Lars Lundgren, Chief Medical Officer

Lars Lundgren was appointed Chief Medical Officer for the Unilabs group in January 2008.
He is also a member of Unilabs’ OpEx Team and concurrently holds the position of Medical Director for the Laboratories in Region North.

Dr Lundgren joined Capio Diagnostics in 2005, as Medical Director Laboratories, Medical and Business Development in four European countries.
From 2002 to 2005 he acted as Director Medical Development and Quality for Capio Diagnostik AB in 8 hospital laboratories and 30 Primary Care laboratories in Sweden.
From 1997 to 2001 he has served as Medical Director, Cellular Pathology (Histo- and Cytopathology) for Nova Medical AB and as Director Business Development (2000-2001).
Prior to this Dr Lundgren was Head of Laboratory for Cellular Pathology (1993-1997) at Ostersund Hospital, Sweden.

Lars Lundgren graduated in 1984 from the Medical School at Gothenburg University, where he graduated with a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) at the Department of Pathology.
He is a trained clinical specialist in histopathology and cytology.
Dr Lundgren has obtained an Executive Master degree in Business Administration (EMBA) at the School of Economics, University of Gothenburg.

He was born in 1956. He is a Swedish citizen.
